I am very lucky to be married to a man that is a fun, affectionate, involved, outgoing and loving daddy. He rarely misses a soccer practice or karate class - he's the ultimate "Soccer Mom" ;) Karina is so attached to her daddy - She loves going on dates with him. I gotta admit that he sometimes takes her on better dates then he takes me and she makes sure I know it! When he gets home from work, she really doesn't care that he had a rough day, was stressed out, is tired or has a headache ... she just wants him to play with her and of course he does! Elijah's first word was DaDa and he just lights up as soon as Daddy walks in the door. Corey finally has someone to play rough with, Elijah loves to crawl all over him and smack him while screaming like a mad man. I think our precious little boy is gonna be a bruiser!
It took some convincing and a small tantrum from Grandma Emily (Corey's mom) but we (the women) got our way and spent Father's Day this year on PaPa's (Corey's dad) boat - cruising from San Pedro to Long Beach and through Naples. The guys (Corey & PaPa) thought it was too much work to take the boat out ... the boat is in the garage and is normally the storage place for 5o rolls of toilet paper & paper towels, anything summer related, any bulk item that doesn't fit in the cupboards and whatever else that is thrown in there that doesn't have a home. So if we use the boat that means that it needs to be emptied of all the crap that's thrown in there and all the crap that surrounds it needs to be cleared away = more work then the guys usually want to do.
Once in the water on one of the few beautiful, sunny and warm days in June, the guys thanked us for making them take the boat out! It was a gorgeous day, although the water was a little choppy, which Karina hates - she charges her PaPa $1 every time he scares her by going over a big wake. It was Elijah's first time on the boat and he did great! He didn't mind that it was choppy, it rocked him to sleep ... if he's tired, he'll fall asleep anywhere! We love cruising through Naples for a few hours on a warm sunny day, I wish we would do it more often. It was a fun day and most importantly Daddy & PaPa had a blast spending Father's Day on the water with their favorite people. (insert "awwwww" here)
